Today we’ll be heading off the beaten path and travelling through one of Australia’s most iconic, unsealed roads, the Oodnadatta Track. The desert scenery will feel eerie and moonlike as the landscape uncovers highlights like Australia’s largest salt lake, Lake Eyre and the Mutonia Sculpture Park. We’ll also head through Anna Creek Station, the world’s largest working cattle station. Covering an area of six million acres, it is equivalent to the size of Belgium!
By the afternoon, we’ll arrive in the tiny outback settlement of William Creek for the night. In the middle of nowhere, on the way to somewhere, this quirky town with a population of ten is an icon of the South Australian Outback!
