welcome to travel careers
Travel Host
Travel Host | Sydney
Dear Future Welcome to Travel Host,
This is one epic job. No seriously, this is going to be so cool.
Are you someone who is all about vibe?
Are you your friend’s hype person?
Imagine actually getting excited about going to work, what a feeling!
If your face is lighting up as you’re reading, this might be the most important job ad you ever read.
Here’s why…
Experience can be great, but it’s not the be all and end all and we don’t only look for people with experience in the travel industry.Â
When looking at who is best to join our team, we look for individuals that are switched on, sharp and passionate about travel, people and delivering experiences.Â
We back ourselves to be able to teach you the industry knowledge part.
We look for people that are assertive, ambitious, are excited about getting themselves, and our travellers out of their comfort zone.
Wait a minute, what is a Welcome to Travel Host anyway?
This is someone who:Â
- Cares about international travellers’ experience of Australia
- Loves meeting people and having a lasting impact on people’s lives
- Wants travellers to return home and shout from the rooftops that everyone needs to go travelling with Welcome to Travel
- Truly believes that travel enables people to see the world differently.
The positive effect our tours and community have on people is astounding. Check our reviews on Google if you don’t believe us…
As a Travel Host you will be meeting so many different people in different situations.
One day you could be hosting the first day of our East Coast tour and the next you will be guiding people around the city on a Mini Pack Tour.
Each work day will be different, but interacting with travellers will be the main theme.
We’re with each one of our travellers every step of the way and we want them to have the best experience possible while they’re in Australia. This will play a huge part in that.
Ok, a little bit about us…
- We’re a total travel solution company for young people who want to travel to Australia
- We won ‘Best Tour Operator’ at the Global Youth Travel Awards 2023
- We run award winning tours in Melbourne, Sydney and the East Coast of Australia for international travellers
- We have over 2,500 five star reviews across Google and TripAdvisor
- We’ve welcomed travellers from 39 different countries
- We have offices in Melbourne and Sydney
- We’re crazy ambitious
- We’re focused on being the best we can be
We know that the hardest part about travelling is always the start, so we want to make sure each traveller has the best possible experience with us.
Let Us Tell You About The Role
Although your working week and expectations will be clear, the role will be kept exciting and fresh as no two days are the same. It will feature:
- Guiding Day 1 on our East Coast Tour, meaning you’re the first person our travellers will meet on tour
- Delivering travel and employment talks to travellers on our Welcome Tours
- Guiding our Mini Pack tour and showing new travellers the very best of the city
- Being the biggest Welcome to Travel Hype person around

Please take the time to write a cover letter that tells us about YOU.
We don’t want the boring stuff, we want the details.
