Melbourne Airport Pick-up Instructions
These instructions are for your pick-up from Melbourne Tullamarine Airport (MEL) to your hostel.
Before you fly
Your driver may contact you on WhatsApp, so set it up before you leave.
- Download WhatsApp on your phone. It's free, and it's the easiest way to reach your driver.
- Add VHA Airport Shuttle to your contacts. Save this number so you can message them when you land.

Your driver will be waiting inside the terminal building holding a sign with YOUR name on it.
- Turn your phone on and get online. Make sure ROAMING is activated, or connect to the FREE AIRPORT WiFi, so you and your driver can text or use WhatsApp. If your flight is delayed in any way, let your driver know as soon as you can. There are plenty of power points in the terminal if you need to charge your phone.
- Find your driver inside the terminal. Which order to do things in depends on your flight:

Your driver is waiting inside the terminal building. Stay inside AFTER collecting your luggage.
Domestic Flights
Driver First
Find your driver BEFORE you wait for your luggage. At Melbourne Airport the wait for bags can be 20 minutes or more.
- Can't see your driver yet? Text or WhatsApp them, or follow the steps in Can't find your driver? below. Melbourne Airport is small, but it can be complicated, so staying in touch is what makes the pick-up smooth.
- Meet your driver. They will take you directly to the hostel.
Stay inside the terminal building. Don't go outside, and don't look for buses. VHA is a premium service and does not use the bus lane.
Landing late? Take an Uber
VHA only pick-up between 5AM - 1AM.
We can’t provide a pick-up between 1AM and 5AM, so please book an Uber.
Pick-up after 10PM depends on shuttle availability and might take longer.

If something goes wrong
Can't Find Your Driver?
- Go to any other driver waiting in the terminal. Give them the VHA Airport Shuttle office number and ask them to quickly ring your driver or the office.

- Follow the instructions you're given over the phone. VHA Airport Shuttle will tell you where to go.
