Begin a thrilling 5‑Day PADI Open Water Course aboard Divers Den’s OceanQuest liveaboard on the Great Barrier Reef, including three days on the reef and two nights aboard.
Days 1 & 2: Classroom theory and pool training at Divers Den’s Cairns training centre, including swim and tread‑water tests, finishing each day around 5 pm.
Days 3–5: Transfer early morning to the reef. Enjoy four PADI training dives plus five fun dives, including a guided night dive. Certification typically issued on Day 4, followed by an extra sunrise dive on Day 5 before heading back to Cairns by mid‑afternoon.
All dive gear, PADI materials, meals aboard, chilled water, transfers, and reef exploration at Saxon, Norman, and Hastings reefs are included.
Do I need a medical clearance?
Yes—if you answer “yes” on the diver medical self‑assessment, you must bring the completed form to a physician to get approved before the course
How deep will I dive as a beginner?
Standard PADI Open Water divers are certified to dive up to 18 m, whereas Advanced Open Water certification (if you choose that route) allows dives up to 30 m—perfect for discovering deeper reef zones
Are special diets catered for?

Yes. The maximum weight is 110kg, but additional charges apply for anyone over 94kg due to safety and equipment limitations. - What should I wear?
Wear comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes (no boots or heels). They’ll provide jumpsuits and all the gear you need. - Can I bring my own GoPro or camera?
No — for safety reasons, you can’t bring your own camera. But Skydive Australia offers professional video/photo packages. - What happens if the weather is bad?
Skydives are weather dependent. If it’s unsafe to jump, they’ll reschedule you at no extra cost or offer a voucher for another time.
